Belvoir Bed: Better breathing for you both!

Respiratory problems are equally as common during the warmer months as they are in winter, and it is not just your horse that can be affected by an unhealthy environment. Consider the time you spend in the stable – throwing up bedding and inhaling the surrounding air - don’t you and your horse both deserve to be breathing cleanly?

Ammonia and dust can both contribute to respiratory problems. COPD (previously known as RAO) can be aggravated and lead to much discomfort for your horse, whilst irritated asthma, coughs and colds can be very unpleasant for yourself.

Mucking out is unfortunately an occupational hazard when looking after horses, but breathing in harmful odours needn’t be and there are several ways that chopped straw bedding Belvoir Bed helps ensure this.

Step 1, absorbency! Belvoir Bed is exceptionally absorbent due to its short fibres, which enable it to soak up large quantities of urine quickly; this means there is a reduced risk of harmful ammonia levels in the environment.

Step 2, dust extraction! With a brand new, state of the art dust extraction process, Belvoir Bed is virtually dust free, meaning dangerous moulds and spores are practically eradicated!

Step 3, added extras! Belvoir Bed uses a natural, organic formulation containing Lemongrass, which is a non-toxic and non-irritant plant offering a pleasant lemon smell without the potency of citronella. The formula also has powerful anti-fungal and antiseptic properties making it ideal for all yards, especially larger establishments, to help keep viruses at bay, as well as helping keep equines content and free from pesky insects and flies.

Having used Belvoir Bed for several months, Gemma Dale has been thoroughly impressed by the product. “I've used most types of bedding and Belvoir Bed is by far the best,” she says. “I have asthma and it isn't irritating to me, or the horses and smells lovely. The stables look clean and tidy and I have a few youngsters that have been known to eat other bedding, but that isn’t the case with Belvoir Bed!”
With prices from £4.90 + vat, Belvoir Bed is quick rotting, easy to muck out and comfortable for your horse. Belvoir Bed can only be ordered direct enabling prices to be kept to an absolute minimum.

Belvoir Bedding just got better!

Belvoir Bed is fast becoming one of the most popular bedding products to use on yards across the country and this isn’t solely due to an economical aspect. Using Belvoir Bed ensures peace of mind that horses are stabled in the most hygienic environment possible and thanks to the inclusion of a new and improved natural formula, the benefits just got better!

Belvoir Bed is made from a mix of wheat and rape straw, which works together to provide exceptionally absorbent bedding in traditional form. The raw material is passed through a state of the art dust extraction process to produce a clean and virtually dust free bedding which is ideal for performance horses and those suffering from respiratory problems.

Belvoir Bed has now re-formulated its existing treatment, which uses a natural, organic formulation to give ‘added extras’ and enhance the benefits of the cosy, traditional bedding. The principle ingredients are Lemongrass - a non-toxic and non-irritant plant offering a pleasant lemon smell without the potency of citronella - and Cade Oil, which helps retain this fresh aroma.

Both ingredients combine together to offer antiseptic, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal properties which helps repel insects, fight against bacteria and reduce moulds and spores. This exclusive formula is ideal for all yards especially larger establishments to help keep viruses at bay – such as flu and strangles - and can help keep equines content and free from insects and flies.

Sharon updates us on her progress so far

With the season well under way, it feels like we spend more time traveling in the lorry than we do at home, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We have had a very busy month and have had lots of encouraging results to report, we took 4 of the horses down to Hickstead at the end of June to do some fine tuning. Maisie and Amber both jumped double clears in the 1m 25, special well done to Amber who did this 2 days running.
Imp also proved he enjoyed the show jumping outing, with a well deserved 13th in the 1m 10 out of a class of 80. Maisie and Imp also jumped double clear in the foxhunter and Columbo didn’t let the side down with a double clear in the 1metre. It’s always good to get them jumping clear at a big event like this with the bigger atmosphere, this helps keep them focused on the fences and not worry about everything else that’s going on around them.

My next event was Eridge, which is lovely and local to us, we were really pleased with Columbo III, who was placed 6th in the BE100 5year old section. An honest boy with so much scope.
We were then home for just a few days and then loaded a total of 7 horses in the lorry and headed for Barbury International. This is a great event which we always look forward to.
For such a big event Columbo III was a star, he settled well and felt ready for the job in hand. For such a young horse he really enjoys his work and came 3rd in the 5yr old young event horse class and has now qualified for Burghley. Romeo Z put in a solid performance in the 2* which placed him 21st and Chaitaigne Filice was 4th in the 2*.

Just Maisie was double clear in the 3* and came 28th out of 130, we were really pleased as the field was full of strong combinations and team horses; she was by far the least experienced. We are really excited about what the future holds for Maisie A special mention has to be made for the lovely Billy Limmerick who did his very first event, he was entered into the 4 year old young event horse at Barbury and didn’t disappoint. He did a great little dressage test and also got a very good 9 for his confirmation. Although not top ten this time round he was such a pleasure to ride and have on as part of the team.

Jasper is due to be rescanned tomorrow, so please keep your fingers and toes crossed. At the moment he is back in light work and seems fine, so we are eager to see what the vet says tomorrow.

Belvoir Bed is heaven 'scent'!

Are you sick of smelly summer stables? Is the stench of your clothes and your horse’s rugs an insult to your nasal passages? If you are looking for a product that helps eradicate ammonia and keeps your stable fresh and odour-free, consider Belvoir Bed for a cost effective, natural bedding solution.

By utilising a by-product from the farming industry, straw - a traditional raw material - has been brought in to the 21st century through the use of a modern chopping process.

Belvoir Bed is exceptionally absorbent due to its short fibres, which enable it to soak up large quantities of urine quickly; this means there is a reduced risk of smelly liquid sitting on your bedding and in turn reduces ammonia levels. In addition, the comfortable bedding product is virtually dust free after being passed through a rigorous dust extraction process, ensuring it is safe to use with all horses and ponies, including those suffering from respiratory compromise.

Belvoir Bed uses a natural, organic formulation to add extra benefits to the already effective bedding. The principal ingredient in this formulation is Lemongrass which is a non toxic and non irritant plant offering a pleasant lemon smell without the potency of citronella. On top of this the formula has powerful anti-fungal properties to help reduce moulds and spores, whilst also offering antiseptic benefits to help protect against contagious disease. This carefully created formula makes Belvoir Bed ideal for all yards especially larger establishments to help keep viruses at bay – such as flu and strangles - and can help keep equines content and free from insects and flies.

With prices from £4.90 + vat, Belvoir Bed is quick rotting, easy to muck out and comfortable for your horse. Belvoir Bed can only be ordered direct enabling prices to be kept to an absolute minimum.

Soothe summer sniffles with Belvoir Bed

Summer allergies are becoming more and more common and with some horses simply not being able to stay out in the sunshine once spring has sprung, choosing a bedding that won’t irritate existing problems, or create new ones is imperative.

Belvoir Bed is the perfect solution to helping soothe summer sniffles! Not only is the chopped straw product absorbent and easy to muck out, but it has been put through a vigorous dust extraction process to remove moulds and spores, which if left in the surrounding area, can be potentially fatal to an equine suffering from respiratory compromise.

Belvoir Bed is also treated with an exclusive, natural and organic formula. The principal ingredient in Belvoir Bed’s natural formulation is Lemongrass which is a powerful anti-fungal agent which helps reduce the levels of moulds and spores as well as offering anti-bacterial and anti-septic properties to help protect against contagious diseases and viruses. For horses and ponies with an already weakened immune this is a simple, yet significant step towards helping keep their environment clean, hygienic and safe.

Lemongrass is totally non toxic and non irritant making it the perfect choice for sensitive equines, while the anti-insecticidal properties provide excellent insect repelling properties without the use of citronella or harsh chemicals.

With prices starting at just £4.90 (+ vat) per bale, Belvoir Bed is quick rotting, cost effective and easy to use. Belvoir Bed can only be ordered direct at a minimum quantity of 35 bales. To find out more information tel: 01254 677 786 or visit: www.belvoirbed.co.uk
