Keeping a tight rein on purse strings is a high priority this year and by only selling to customers direct, Belvoir Bed can offer huge savings. It may not seem financially viable to buy a whole pallet of bedding at one time, however when you work out the savings involved – can you really afford not to?
With the average price of a bale of shavings being in excess of £7, now is a perfect time to look at alternative bedding products. Belvoir Bed is a mix of chopped wheat and rape straw offering absorbency that rivals wood based products – and an easy, traditional and extremely cost effective bedding method.
With prices starting at just £5.75 (including vat) per bale, based on the average horse’s requirements of 4 bales to set up an initial bed and 1 bale per week to top up, using Belvoir Bed costs around £322 per year. Using the same quantity of shavings would cost £392 for the year – already providing customers with bill of £70 more. By using Belvoir Bed you could have saved yourself nearly 18% of the total cost per year, the equivalent of 12 bales of Belvoir Bed, effectively 3 months of bedding!
For larger yards the savings will be even more obvious. As an example, a yard with 10 horses would have a bedding bill of around £3,920 per year based on the average cost of £7 per bale of shavings. With Belvoir Bed that cost is reduced to £3,220 – a saving of £700! For this reason, amongst others, Belvoir Bed is used by professional yards around the country including event rider Sharon Hunt and dressage riders Gareth and Rebecca Hughes.
Apart from the obvious cost benefits, Belvoir Bed rots down within 2 – 3 months minimising muck heap removal costs, as well as being quick and easy to muck out making it generally more efficient. The natural lemongrass treatment offers anti bacterial and anti fungal properties to maintain a healthy environment and the vigorous dust extraction process makes it ideal for horses with a compromised respiratory system.

Belvoir Bed is now available in smaller quantities
Due to popular demand Belvoir Bed is now available to buy in smaller quantities enabling all horse owners to benefit from the cost effective, easy to use chopped straw bedding.
Used and favoured by top international riders, including event rider Sharon Hunt and dressage riders Rebecca and Gareth Hughes, Belvoir Bed starts at just £4.90 per bale and is now available to buy direct in single pallets.
One pallet contains 35 bales, enough to last one horse approximately 6 months, and buying in bulk enables yards and single horse owners to save pounds on their bedding costs over the winter.
Yards already using Belvoir Bed have found it speeds up mucking out and reduces muck heap size. Sharon Hunt’s head groom, Sophie Smith, now finds mucking out a doddle! “Belvoir Bed is dust free, easy to use, quick to muck out, always smells nice and very economical," she says.
